EDWARD SULLIVAN
Senior Vice President and Chief Economist
Edward Sullivan is Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Market Intelligence for PCA.  He directs all PCA’s forward market assessments that support the industry’s planning efforts and market research. Ed’s analysis and views regarding the construction, cement and concrete industries is widely used in corporate planning efforts, the financial industry, and media.  Ed’s analysis also supports the cement industry’s advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C. and to this end has testified before Congress

DAVID ZWICKE
Senior Director of Analysis

Dave Zwicke is the Senior Director of Analytics of PCA’s Market Intelligence.  He oversees PCA regional analysis and forecast programs.  As senior regional economist, Dave tracks and forecasts regional and state cement demand, construction trends and market conditions of the Central U.S Region.  His analysis is used by PCA membership for industry tracking and strategic planning.

Prior to assuming his current role at PCA, Dave worked with an industrial real estate investment trust in which he monitored regional portfolio holdings and market trends. He holds a bachelors of science in economics and an MBA with certificates in economics and finance

BRIAN SCHMIDT
Director of Policy Analytics & Regional Economist

Brian has been with PCA since 2011.  He studied political science and economics at Carthage College, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree. He received an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.  Brian is responsible for forecasting the Pacific and Mountain regions of the U.S. as well as industry advocacy and policy analysis.

JOSEPH CHIAPPE
Director of Data Analytics & Senior Regional Economist
Joe has been with PCA since 2010. He has an economics degree from Illinois State University and an MBA from North Park University. He is responsible for state forecasts in the East North Central (Great Lakes) and Mid-Atlantic Divisions, as well as for overseeing the dashboard. He is responsible for ensuring databases and data models are properly maintained.

Regional & Policy Economist
Trevor has been with PCA since 2016.  He holds a BA in Economics from North Central College and a MS in Data Science from Northwestern University. Trevor is the regional economist for the Southeast region and provides economic support for PCA’s advocacy efforts.

KAITLIN BEER
Market Intelligence Analyst
Kaitlin received her Master of Science in Anthropology and Master of Library and Information Science from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her current role is to compose several of Market Intelligence’s monthly reports and to maintain the department’s databases and Construction InVue system. She also assists with data requests and research projects. .

BRENDEN HEBERT
Market Intelligence Analyst

Brenden started his professional career with PCA. He studied data analytics at Brigham Young University’s Idaho campus, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Economics. He is responsible for the majority of Market Intelligence’s regular monthly reports and ad hoc projects. Brenden will also be involved in developing the department’s Dashboard.

SOHAIL KHAN
Economic Data Analyst

Sohail began working for PCA in July of 2022 shortly after graduating with a bachelor of science in economics & finance with a minor in management from DePaul University. He is still at DePaul working on receiving his Master’s in economics and policy analysis by the summer of 2023. He is responsible for our Apparent Use of Portland Cement report, maintaining internal databases, and for developing Market Intelligence’s Dashboard. 

EMILY MCCARTHY
Economic Policy Analyst

Emily has been with PCA since 2022. She has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Philosophy from Saint Louis University. Additionally, she has a minor in Geographic Information Systems. She is responsible for all PCA surveys, the Labor-Energy report, reports related to industry structure, and supporting industry advocacy projects.
